The show has now been going for over 150 years. It is held over the August bank holiday weekend in Caddey’s field, Egham close to Runnymede famous for its own history, and is approximately 40 minutes west of London.
The Show was founded in 1857 to encourage the local farmers and their labourers in their work. Life has changed dramatically in Egham since that date and the Show has moved into the 21st century to reflect this, and offers a range of activities for visitors. One of its main features is a giant horticultural marquee - the site of hotly-contested horticultural and floral competitions.
